Although Peter Zeidler had openly stated in recent weeks his desire to bring Betim Fazliji to Grasshoppers, the Kosovan and Swiss defensive midfielder is instead transferring from FC St. Gallen to their city rivals, FC Zürich. The two clubs reached an agreement on Sunday for the 27-year-old, who had a contract with St. Gallen until 2027. Fazliji, who has a history of two cruciate ligament tears, is scheduled for a medical on Monday. The midfielder has 23 caps for Kosovo and a current Transfermarkt market value of €200,000. He previously moved from St. Gallen to St. Pauli in July 2022 for a reported €450,000.
