Despite speculation about a potential return to his former club Hallescher FC, Rot-Weiß Erfurt now appears to be the primary contender to sign German-Turkish midfielder Berk Inaler. According to the Mitteldeutsche Zeitung, the Thuringian club is close to signing the 26-year-old. Inaler last played for SV Sandhausen. Inaler reportedly fits the profile sought by RWE coach Fabian Gerber. Gerber is looking to build a team capable of competing for promotion next season. The midfielder joined Sandhausen in July 2025, and his contract expires in June 2026. Transfermarkt lists his current market value as €125k.
