Ajax and Trabzonspor are in negotiations which involve two players, with the Amsterdam club targeting defensive midfielder Batista Mendy. Ajax has made a bid of five million euros for the 26-year-old French player, who also holds Guinea-Bissau nationality. Getafe has also reportedly made an offer for Mendy, who spent the previous season on loan at Sevilla and has a contract with Trabzonspor until mid-2027. The negotiations are taking place while Trabzonspor is also attempting to re-sign Ahmetcan Kaplan from Ajax. Mendy joined Trabzonspor in September 2023 for a reported fee of €4.4 million, and his current market value is €7.50m, according to Transfermarkt. In May 2026, Sevilla did not activate a €7 million purchase option for the player, and reports from June 2026 have cited conflicting asking prices from Trabzonspor, ranging from €4-5 million to €10 million.
