Livingston are close to signing Barrie McKay for the season. The out-of-contract playmaker has been training with the Premiership club this week. The former Rangers and Hearts player, who has been without a club since leaving the Jambos at the end of last season, had received numerous offers both domestically and from overseas but was waiting for the right opportunity. McKay was recently at Kilmarnock, but their interest ended when Robbie Neilson did not get the manager's job. Livingston want to offer a short-term deal and are trying to complete it in time for him to debut against Dundee this weekend. Manager Marvin Bartley believes McKay can provide creativity. The club had previously tried to sign him under former boss Davie Martindale. The move was prompted by injuries to Connor McLennan and Scott Arfield.
