Following a match for the Greek national team, speculation about the possibility of Thanasis Androutsos returning to Olympiacos has occurred in press reports and on social media. The 29-year-old midfielder is a Greece international with 15 caps and 1 goal. He recently completed an excellent season with OFI and has a connection to the Piraeus club where he developed. For a transfer to proceed, OFI would require adequate payment, and Androutsos would need assurances of a significant role and playing time to avoid being excluded from the squad again. While the discussion is described as theoretical, the case is reportedly not ruled out by Olympiacos, as the club is looking to strengthen its group of Greek players. As part of this same strategy, the club is also seriously considering the situation of Nikos Athanasiou, who is on loan at the Cretan club. Androutsos's contract with OFI expires in June 2029, and his market value is listed by Transfermarkt as €1.00m.
