Manchester City was pursuing Ashton Scally. According to Record Sport, after nine months of preparatory work by the club’s hierarchy, he has agreed to sign his first professional contract with Rangers, despite multiple offers from England and abroad.

Manchester City also considered a move for Scally, however, that interest did not develop and a move to the Premier League giants is not planned for the left-back. Rangers News reported this week that Scally seemed likely to stay in Glasgow despite interest from elsewhere. According to the Daily Record, he will not be signing an extension just for the purpose of doing so, but will be signing a long-term deal at the club.

The Daily Record reported that Ashton Scally has attracted interest from Manchester City. There was a belief that he was expected to join the club, with a move to the Etihad Stadium appearing to be close. However, the Ibrox side are confident that he will agree to new terms, as a three-year deal has been offered. Sources for the Ibrox side believe that the contract could be signed imminently to deter interest from south of the border.
