Andreas Herrmann stated that it is a fact that there were concrete offers in the amount of just under double-digit millions for Asane Sow or Akpe Victory, but he did not reveal for which player or players. Herrmann added that David Degen was also completely against them selling again immediately. Sow, a 20-year-old Senegalese-Italian winger, joined FC Basel in July 2026 from Pro Vercelli for a reported fee of €600,000. The club's long-term selling ambition for him was reported in September 2026 to be around €8 million to €10 million. His current market value is €400k, according to Transfermarkt. Several clubs, including Sevilla and Napoli, have been linked with the player.
