Artem Dovbyk, a 28-year-old Ukrainian forward who joined Roma last summer from Girona for 30.5 million euros plus 5.5 million in bonuses and 10% of any future resale profits, has caught the attention of Sunderland. This interest is partly due to the involvement of former Roma player Floran Ghisolfi with the club. Roma has set his valuation at approximately 27 million euros, which is the minimum amount needed to avoid a capital loss. The club is not considering a loan deal with an option to buy, as they intend to use the sale proceeds to fund a replacement purchase. In his debut season in Italy, Dovbyk netted 17 goals in 45 appearances, which has also piqued the interest of Leeds United and West Ham, alongside Sunderland. The Friedkin family, owners of Roma, plans to utilize the transfer funds to acquire a replacement. His contract with Roma is valid until June 2029, and Transfermarkt currently estimates his market value at €30 million.
