Arouna Sangante Transfer from Le Havre to Borussia Mönchengladbach
Borussia Mönchengladbach was interested in Le Havre's 23-year-old defender Arouna Sangante a few weeks ago. The Senegalese player has also attracted interest from several English clubs, including Leeds United, Brentford, and Brighton & Hove Albion. TEAMtalk reported that West Ham United had considered signing the defender during the last week of the winter transfer window, but the transfer did not proceed because it was blocked by coach Nuno Espirito Santo, who preferred a more experienced player. Although the transfer did not happen, the London club may be interested again in the summer of 2026. Sangante, who joined Le Havre in July 2021, has made 18 appearances and scored one goal in Ligue 1 this season. The defender, who is yet to be capped by Senegal, has a contract with the French club until June 2026. His current market value is €8.00m, according to Transfermarkt. In January 2025, reports indicated Le Havre was demanding approximately €5 million for him.
