The future of 32-year-old Spanish centre-back Aritz Elustondo is uncertain. His contract with Real Sociedad is set to expire in June 2026, and there have been no updates on the situation since early February. In early February, sporting director Erik Bretos stated that Aritz is a very important player for Real Sociedad, both in the dressing room and on the pitch. Bretos also mentioned that the two parties had a conversation and agreed to speak again later without rushing a decision. Elustondo has made 11 appearances in LaLiga this season. He joined the club in January 2016 and has been capped once for Spain's U21 team. His current Transfermarkt valuation is €1.80m.
