At his prior loan club, Westerlo in Belgium, the 19-year-old had received limited minutes, participating in seven league games without making any starts. To secure the deal, Cádiz negotiated with the English club for over a week. Cádiz was not the only interested Segunda club, as Cordero had received up to four strong offers, one of which was from Deportivo. An official announcement of the move is expected soon.
