Genoa is now considering Antonino Gallo, a 26-year-old Italian defender from Lecce, as a potential reinforcement after its pursuit of another target, Elliot Stroud, appears to have ended. Sky Sport reported that Genoa recently made an unsuccessful attempt to re-engage with Stroud after Hull City also became interested in the player. Consequently, the club is evaluating alternatives, with Gallo being a player of significant interest. A first contact between the parties is expected over the weekend to assess the feasibility of a deal and the possible conditions for advancing the negotiation. Gallo joined Lecce in July 2019, has a contract until 2027, and has made 135 appearances in Serie A. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value at €3.5 million. Cagliari has also been linked with him. A proposal of €2 million from Corum FK was reportedly mentioned in July 2026.
