Australian and Croatian midfielder Anthony Kalik, 28, joined Kauno Žalgiris just before the team's match against Dinamo and was registered for the Champions League squad by coach Željko Sopić very late. The day before the game, the coach had expressed uncertainty about how to solve the administrative problem of adding new players to the list due to UEFA rules on homegrown talent. Ultimately, a solution was found to register both Kalik and another new arrival, Gabriel Debeljuh, by removing two other players from the list. Kalik then trained at Maksimir and will be in the squad for the match. The midfielder, who has a current Transfermarkt market value of €500k, made 17 appearances and scored one goal in the SuperSport HNL during the 2025/2026 season.
