A prospective transfer for Belgian and English centre-back Antef Tsoungui to Saint-Étienne, which is managed by Ian Cathro, did not proceed earlier in the transfer window. The move collapsed because the clubs could not agree on a transfer fee. It was reported that Estoril was seeking between £4.3 million and £5.1 million for the 23-year-old. Tsoungui joined Estoril in September 2025, has one cap for Belgium's U21 side, and has a contract until June 2029. He remains an Estoril player ahead of the transfer deadline early next month. It is also reported that Southampton and other unnamed clubs on the continent are interested. His current Transfermarkt market value is €1.00m.
