The proposed exchange would also involve defender Valerio Mantovani and midfielder Federico Artioli joining Bari. Meroni's move would fill the defensive position at Mantova left open by Mantovani's departure. The deal is being explored as both teams look to improve their squads before the transfer window closes. The feasibility is still under evaluation, partly because Artioli's condition requires assessment after an appendicitis operation. Meroni joined Bari in September 2025 and has made 12 appearances in Serie B this season. His contract is valid until June 2027, and his current market value, according to Transfermarkt, is €500k.
