An official club statement from Nottingham Forest announced that German and Spanish goalkeeper Stefan Ortega, 33, is among the players whose expiring contracts will not be extended. It is not yet known where Stefan Ortega will play after the summer. The goalkeeper joined Forest from Manchester City in February 2026 for a fee reported to be up to €580,000 and made three appearances in the Premier League during the 2025/2026 season. Transfermarkt estimates his current market value to be €4.00m. He has been linked with a move to Wrexham.
