Alphonse Areola can leave east London without a transfer fee next summer when his contract expires. West Ham United hold an extra one-year option on his contract, but it is considered unlikely that they will extend his deal. Areola's contract was worth £120,000 a week before a relegation clause halved his earnings. Despite not appearing since pre-season, Areola's cost to West Ham United is £240k a month. He is back in full training and could feature soon.

Goalkeeper Alphonse Areola is available for sale, particularly because Mads Hermansen has become Nuno's first-choice goalkeeper.

French goalkeeper Alphonse Areola, 33, is among the players who may exit the club as part of plans to bring in enough talent for Nuno to have a functioning squad. The French international has 5 caps for his country and made 20 appearances in the Premier League last season. His contract with West Ham United runs until June 30, 2027. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €4.00m.
