Corinthians has decided to assess the possibility of competing with São Paulo for Flamengo midfielder Allan, a 28-year-old Brazilian. According to ESPN, Corinthians has already made an initial inquiry to his club. The interest from Corinthians comes after Maycon's departure to Atlético-MG, and was first reported by UOL and later confirmed. Corinthians is considering a one-season loan for Allan until December 2026. São Paulo had also been pursuing a loan for the player and held advanced talks with him, but never finalized an agreement with Flamengo. The Rio de Janeiro club informed São Paulo that it would not advance in negotiations until after January 14, when a decision on the future of São Paulo's president is scheduled. Allan has been cleared to find a new club as he is not in coach Filipe Luís's plans at Flamengo. The midfielder, who has one cap for Brazil's U23 team, joined Flamengo in July 2023 for a reported fee of €8.2 million and has a contract with the club until the end of 2027. His current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt at €3.00m.
