The 32-year-old winger, who is the captain of Iran's national team, joined the club as a free agent, having been without a team since the previous summer. His career includes time in the Netherlands with clubs such as Feyenoord and AZ Alkmaar, where he was the Eredivisie's top scorer for the 2017/2018 season, and a period with the English club Brighton.
