According to AS, Villarreal is interested in 26-year-old Spanish winger Alfon González from Sevilla to reinforce their attack during the January transfer window, following the departures of Solomon and Iliax. The player, who has had limited involvement at the Seville club with only three starts in ten league games, is considered likely to leave as Sevilla needs to adjust its squad for Financial Fair Play purposes. Alfon González recently recovered from an injury sustained at the start of the year, and the proposed arrangement for his transfer would be a loan with a purchase option. However, Villarreal is also reconsidering its market plans after an injury to Juan Foyth, which will keep him out for the rest of the season, has prompted the club to also look for a central defender. González joined Sevilla in July 2025, has a contract until June 2028 and has scored one goal this season in LaLiga. His market value is listed as €4.00m by Transfermarkt.
