Aberdeen midfielder Alfie Stewart has returned to Inverness Caledonian Thistle for a third season on loan. Aberdeen manager Stephen Robinson said Stewart is a talented young player who has performed well in pre-season training, but added that as part of his wider development plan, it is vital he continues to gain exposure to regular first-team football.

Robinson said that they would now assess them further during pre-season and put together the best possible development plan for each of them. He said the next few weeks would help determine the best pathway. He also said that this could mean remaining with them as part of the first-team squad, or it could mean a loan to the Championship where they would continue to play regularly at that level, gain valuable experience and keep progressing towards their first team.
