FC Nürnberg announced the signing of 21-year-old Greek central defender Alexios Kalogeropoulos from Olympiakos Piräus. No transfer fee was due because Alexios Kalogeropoulos's contract was expiring. He made 13 appearances for Olympiakos Piräus in the previous season. The U21 international for Greece, with 14 caps and 1 goal, has a current Transfermarkt market value of €1.50m. FCN-Sportvorstand Joti Chatzialexiou stated that they had been observing Alexios for a while. Chatzialexiou added that he is a young, developing central defender who already brings a lot of experience and had convinced them with his heading and tackling strength as well as his composure on the ball. He also stated that with this transfer, they see themselves as well prepared for possible scenarios and are pleased that Alexios had chosen FCN.
