According to Bild, German player Alexander Vogel, 29, is returning to FC Eilenburg after a single season at FC Grimma. Vogel was developed in the youth systems of Bornaer SV and RB Leipzig. For Grimma, he played primarily as a defensive midfielder in the Oberliga, scoring 15 goals and providing three assists in 29 appearances. He was unable to prevent the team's relegation to the Landesliga. He is rejoining his former club, FC Eilenburg, which was also relegated, moving from the Regionalliga into the Oberliga. The club's goal for the next season is returning to the 4th tier. Vogel previously played for Eilenburg for eight years, making 221 competitive appearances. He expressed that he never lost contact with many of his former and future teammates and has many positive memories from his previous tenure. He added that he looks forward to what he considers the excellent training conditions and stadium and that he wants to enjoy football again.
