Bologna director Giovanni Sartori personally watched 19-year-old Swiss-Italian midfielder Alessandro Romano during Spezia's match against SudTirol as part of an effort to rejuvenate his squad. It is reported that Sartori has already initiated contact with the midfielder's agents and may start discussions with Roma, the player's parent club, in the coming weeks. Romano is on a dry loan at Spezia and is set to return to Roma at the end of the season. While a deal involving an option could be possible, the transfer's feasibility will largely depend on Gian Piero Gasperini. Should he remain at Roma, Gasperini might block the move to provide the young player an opportunity in the first team. This season in Serie B, Romano has made 16 appearances, providing one assist. The midfielder has also been capped once for the Switzerland U20 team and has a current market value of €1.00m, according to Transfermarkt.
