Following their promotion to the Ekstraklasa, Wisła Kraków was interested in signing 26-year-old goalkeeper Aleksandar Popović from Dunajská Streda to add competition to their squad. However, the Serbian international accepted an offer from Slovakian champions Slovan Bratislava, whose proposal was more compelling and included participation in the Champions League qualifiers. Popović then signed a contract with Slovan until 2029 that includes an option for an additional year. The goalkeeper has one cap for Serbia, joined Dunajská Streda in July 2023, and has a current market value of €1.80m, according to Transfermarkt.
