Aleksandar Čavrić Transfer from Kashima Antlers to Slovan Bratislava

Aleksandar Čavrić left Slovan Bratislava for Kashima Antlers in January 2024. The move was initially a loan which became a permanent transfer when an option was exercised. Since his departure, there has been ongoing discussion about a potential return. In summer 2024, Slovan's general manager Ivan Kmotrík Jr. stated that the club had been in contact with Čavrić on multiple occasions. Kmotrík Jr. also said that the player has repeatedly expressed a desire to return, which led the manager to feel that Čavrić might regret his decision to leave. A positive relationship between the parties was demonstrated when Čavrič, while on a break, flew with the Slovan team to Madrid for a match in December 2024. After a league win in Dunajská Streda, coach Weiss stated his belief that the 31-year-old Slovakian and Serbian winger might still return to Slovan Bratislava. Weiss also noted that Čavrič has one year remaining on his contract with Kashima Antlers and that a return would probably not occur if he extends his contract there. The coach acknowledged that a transfer would be difficult because Čavrič has become a champion in Japan and is valued highly by his current club. Čavrić has not yet been capped for Slovakia, has a current Transfermarkt market value of €1.40m, and has made one appearance in the 2025/2026 J1 Special Season.
