Ajax is working to sign nineteen-year-old Spaniard Jano Monserrate and is in talks with Atlético Madrid. Transfer journalist Matteo Moretto previously reported for Marca that the clubs were in advanced negotiations for a permanent transfer. A contract for at least three seasons is prepared for Monserrate in Amsterdam. The two clubs continue to negotiate over bonuses and a resale percentage. The deal is not yet complete, with both clubs still working on the final terms of an agreement. The left-footed attacking midfielder, who can play as a number ten or on either flank, is initially intended for Jong Ajax. Monserrate's current contract with Atlético expires on June 30, 2027, and he has a market value of €500k according to Transfermarkt. He has been capped 14 times for Spain's U19 team, scoring two goals. During the 2025/2026 season, he made two appearances in LaLiga and scored two goals in 31 appearances in the Primera Federación.
