Lichtsteiner, who had most recently left Ajeti out completely twice, stated that the last two weeks were certainly not easy for the player, which is why he understands his decision. The transfer occurs one week before the Swiss transfer window closes and provides Lugano sporting director Sebastian Peltzer with an announced reinforcement for his attack. Ajeti had recently been omitted from the FC Basel squad for matches against FCZ and YB. If the transfer receives timely approval from all parties, the striker could make his debut this weekend in a top match against his parent club. Ajeti joined FC Basel in February 2024, and his contract is valid until June 2028. He has earned 11 caps and scored one goal for Switzerland. His current Transfermarkt market value is €700k.
