Grønbæk is currently on an unsuccessful loan at Genoa from Rennes, having made only four Serie A appearances and played 102 minutes. He joined Genoa on a one-year loan deal in the summer of 2024, after Rennes bought him from Bodø Glimt during the same summer. Grønbæk's contract with Rennes is valid until the summer of 2029.
