Dumbarton have signed 19-year-old Scottish goalkeeper Aidan Rice on loan from Celtic, with the deal being completed as the loan window was closing. Manager Frank McKeown stated that he pursued Rice upon learning of his availability, believing he would add quality and competition. McKeown noted that Rice is involved with the Celtic first team daily and already has senior experience from his time at Inverness and with Celtic's B team. The manager also revealed that other clubs, including some in England, had shown significant interest in the player, and thanked Celtic for facilitating the deal. The goalkeeper's contract with Celtic expires in May 2026, and he has made two appearances for Celtic's B team in the Lowland League this season.
