The contract was finalized after Larsson had trained with the club for one and a half weeks, a period which included his participation in a training match against FC København. Sports Director Peter Lassen stated to the club's website that Hvidovre had acted on a recommendation to trial the player and was pleased with how he performed. Lassen described Larsson as a small, fast, and strong forward who gives the team new attacking possibilities.
