Wrexham submits record bid for Angers striker Sidiki Cherif

Competition is increasing for the Angers forward as multiple clubs have shown interest in a potential transfer.

Sunderland, Newcastle, and Fulham are among the clubs that have previously shown an interest in Angers forward Sidiki Cherif. Wrexham and Crystal Palace are now the main contenders, and both have held talks to sign the 19-year-old French-Guinean player. Wrexham has submitted a £19 million bid for the striker, which is a potential record for a Championship club, as competition to sign him increases in the final 10 days of the January window.

Chérif has a contract with Angers until June 2028 and has scored four goals in 18 Ligue 1 appearances this season. Angers' asking price has reportedly been set between €25 million and €30 million. The club is said to have already rejected offers from Crystal Palace valued between €15 million and €20 million and an offer of nearly €20 million from Villarreal in December 2025. The player's current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €7 million.
