West Ham are one of several clubs monitoring Bailey Rice, a young Scottish Rangers midfielder whose contract expires this summer. Dutch side Ajax, German club Schalke, and Zulte Waregem of Belgium are reportedly also interested in the player. Rangers manager Danny Rohl is said to be hoping to convince the 19-year-old to renew his contract at Ibrox.
West Ham have not yet taken any action and are only observing the situation, but could potentially sign Rice for a minimal cross-border compensation fee if their pursuit is successful. The Scotland U19 international, who has 16 caps for his country, did not make any appearances in the Scottish Premiership during the 2025/2026 season. Schalke reportedly submitted an offer on personal terms in April 2026. According to Transfermarkt, the player has a current market value of €800k.
