With less than 48 hours remaining in the transfer window, West Ham are hesitant to loan out Mads Hermansen, and his former club, Leicester City, has strong interest in him. The initial plan was for the 25-year-old Danish goalkeeper, who joined West Ham in August 2025, to be loaned out for more playing time. He made just four Premier League appearances after being benched during his first six months in London. Sources indicate that Hermansen, who has not yet been capped by Denmark, is very keen for more minutes, partly because he is considering his position with the Danish national team before a potential World Cup. Leicester are interested in a loan for the remainder of the season and are now in a waiting position.
Complications have emerged because a previously discussed swap deal with Tottenham involving goalkeeper Antonín Kinský now seems unlikely to proceed. This, in turn, has made a loan for Hermansen to Thomas Frank and co. no longer an option. As a result, West Ham are reportedly no longer as interested in approving a loan move. Hermansen is contracted with the club until 2030. His current market value on Transfermarkt is €15.00m, and his transfer from Leicester to West Ham in August 2025 was for a fee reported to be around €20-21 million.
