VfB Stuttgart and Wolverhampton are among several teams interested in Real Betis' Spanish midfielder Sergi Altimira. Eintracht Frankfurt is expected to make another attempt to sign the 24-year-old during the winter transfer window. Eintracht had previously made an offer in the final hours of the summer market, proposing a loan with a mandatory purchase option of €18.5 million plus €4 million in variables, but it was rejected by Real Betis.
The Spanish club is open to a transfer as it needs to raise significant funds to acquire a new striker and hopes to get €25 million for Altimira, for whom they paid less than €2 million. The player himself previously acknowledged in an interview with Jijantes that an offer arrived in the last 48 hours of the summer window, but Betis deemed it insufficient.
Altimira, who joined Betis in August 2023 and has a contract until June 2029, has made 10 appearances in LaLiga this season, scoring one goal and providing one assist. His current Transfermarkt market value is €20.00m. Earlier in March 2025, reports linked the player with a potential €40-50 million move, and upon his contract extension around June 2025, his release clause was reportedly set at €50-60 million.
