Valencia CF, a Spanish La Liga team, has made an official approach to sign Brentford's Frank Onyeka, 28, on loan and is facing competition from Championship clubs Birmingham City and Coventry City. Late on Thursday, it was reported that Valencia's move is official and that the interest from the other two clubs was also supported. Earlier on Thursday, the Daily Mail had first reported that Coventry identified Onyeka as a target and also claimed that Blues were hoping to sign the midfielder.
The Nigerian international earns an estimated £40,000 per week. His game time at Brentford has been reduced, and he could make another temporary move away after spending last season on loan with German Bundesliga side FC Augsburg. The midfielder joined Brentford in July 2021 and has a contract with the club until June 2027. In the current Premier League season, he has made 6 appearances and provided one assist. His market value is estimated at €7.00m by Transfermarkt.
