Swansea City are competing with Coventry City to sign former Celtic player Liel Abada in the January transfer window. Both Swansea and Coventry are among a number of Championship clubs interested in signing the 24-year-old this month. Abada has been made available for a potential return to the British Isles by his MLS club, Charlotte FC. The Israeli winger has reportedly been permitted to make a temporary move for the rest of the season, a possibility that has arisen because the MLS season does not restart until March.
Swansea are looking to strengthen in that position and is preparing a loan offer for Abada. Abada joined Charlotte FC in March 2024 for a fee of €8.0M, and his contract is due to expire at the end of 2026. The winger, who has 18 caps and one goal for Israel, has a current market value of €6.00m according to Transfermarkt.
