Journalist Matteo Moretto reported that during the recent winter transfer window, Sunderland made a €25 million offer to Osasuna for Víctor Muñoz. The bid for the 22-year-old Spanish winger also included the loan of Eli Mayenda for the remainder of the season. Osasuna rejected the proposal and referred to the player's €40 million release clause.
Other clubs are also observing the situation, and AC Milan has reportedly been following the player since before his arrival at Osasuna. Additionally, Real Madrid, where Muñoz developed, retains 50% of his rights and is attentive to any potential sale. Tottenham Hotspur has also been associated with the player, and it was reported in January 2026 that they were prepared to activate his release clause. In the current LaLiga season, Muñoz has made 23 appearances, scoring 4 goals and providing 1 assist. He joined Osasuna from Real Madrid in July 2025 for a fee between €5 million and €6 million, and his contract expires in June 2030. Transfermarkt estimates his market value to be €10.00m. Reports from January 2026 indicated Real Madrid retained an €8 million buyback option.
