A transfer for 20-year-old Julien Duranville appears likely after he had difficulty establishing himself at Borussia Dortmund due to injuries and spent the second half of last season on loan at FC Basel. The player has been proposed to BlueCo, which owns Chelsea and could place him at Strasbourg. It is said that Strasbourg's manager, Gary O'Neil, is interested. O'Neil has included the Belgian winger on an extended shortlist and considers him an option if an offensive player leaves.

While Borussia Dortmund highly value him, a change in management could affect his future. Other clubs, including his former club Anderlecht, are also reportedly monitoring the Belgian U21 international's situation. His current market value, according to Transfermarkt, is €7.00m. In December 2024, reports suggested that Borussia Dortmund had set a minimum price of €25 million for him, while his initial transfer from Anderlecht to Dortmund in January 2023 was for a fee of €8.5 million.
