A total agreement has been reached between Werder Bremen and Amiens for Skelly Alvero, a 23-year-old French and Angolan defensive midfielder, to join the French club on loan until the end of the season. The agreement does not include an option to buy. Alvero has played very little for the German club, which is currently 12th in the Bundesliga, after being permanently signed from Olympique Lyonnais last summer for €4.75 million.
His coach, Peter Niemeyer, had stated that the player was not in the right state of mind, which was preventing him from reaching his performance limit, and expressed a wish for him to have a reset. Alvero, who has made six appearances and scored one goal for Werder, is set to reinforce Amiens, the 16th-placed team in Ligue 2. His contract with Werder Bremen runs until June 30, 2028. According to Transfermarkt, he has a current market value of €2.50m.
