Shelbourne have signed 22-year-old Welsh goalkeeper Eddie Beach from Kilmarnock on a deal until the end of the season to address a shortage of available goalkeepers at the club. The signing was made ahead of their Conference League fixture this week after injuries to first-choice goalkeeper Wessel Speel and second-choice goalkeeper Conor Walsh.
Beach, who spent the first half of the season on loan at Derry City, stated that he was delighted to join a massive club and that discussions with the manager and technical director Luke Byrne convinced him to sign. Manager John Russell said he was delighted to welcome Beach, describing him as a young goalkeeper with excellent potential, a strong mentality, and a desire to improve. Russell added that Beach brings quality and competition to the goalkeeping group. The Wales U21 international has earned 8 caps and is under contract with Kilmarnock until May 2027. According to Transfermarkt, he has a current market value of €225k.
