Scouts from two German Bundesliga clubs, RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund, are monitoring Matvii Ponomarenko, a 20-year-old Ukrainian center-forward for 'Dynamo'. Both clubs receive weekly reports on his performances. The monitoring has intensified from previously routine levels, and the reports now increasingly include a recommendation for an urgent acquisition.
There is also interest from the English Premier League, where it is reported that 'Brentford' and 'Brighton' have shown an intention to buy the forward. 'Dynamo' has set an initial asking price of 20-25 million euros in negotiations for the player. Ponomarenko joined Dynamo Kyiv in July 2024, has a contract until the end of 2028, and has scored 9 goals in 10 domestic league appearances this season. He has not yet been capped by the Ukrainian national team and has a current market value of €1.00m, according to Transfermarkt.
