Owen Elding, a nineteen-year-old Sligo Rovers striker who holds Irish and English citizenship, is expected to join Scottish Premiership side Hibernian in the next 48 hours, following a 2025 campaign in which he scored 12 league goals and was named PFAI Young Player of the Year. It is understood that Sligo Rovers have accepted an undisclosed six-figure offer for the teenager. The financial package could increase to seven figures if performance-related add-ons are met, and it also includes a sell-on clause for Sligo.
