Oliver Sonne joins Sparta Praha on loan from Burnley

The Danish-Peruvian back has completed a loan transfer for the remainder of the season.

Burnley announced on their website that Oliver Sonne will play for Sparta Prag on loan for the remainder of the season. The move was prompted by his lack of playing time since the club was promoted to the Premier League, during which he made seven appearances and scored one goal. It is not known whether the deal for the 25-year-old Danish-Peruvian back contains a purchase option.

FC København had considered a loan for the former Superliga player earlier in the month but decided against it. Sonne, who will play in the Czech Republic under Danish manager Brian Priske, joined Burnley from Silkeborg approximately a year ago for a reported fee of €3.0 million. The Peruvian international has 13 caps for his country, and his contract with Burnley runs until June 2029. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €4.00m.
