Indonesian international Ole Romeny, 26, is joining Fortuna Sittard from the English club Oxford United on a season-long loan. The Dutch side confirmed the move through its official channels. The agreement does not contain an option for a permanent transfer. Fortuna had been searching for a new primary striker after Kaj Sierhuis departed on a free transfer, and manager Danny Buijs had a strong interest in Romeny, who Oxford had made available for loan.

Technical director Joris Mathijsen stated that they had been working on the transfer for a considerable time and that the finalization was delayed by the processing of Romeny's work permit. Romeny's contract in England runs until mid-2028. Romeny expressed his excitement about returning to the Eredivisie and stated that the confidence the club showed in him was a key factor in his decision. Romeny joined Oxford in January 2025 and has earned 10 caps for Indonesia, scoring 6 goals. His market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €800k.
