Nottingham Forest have joined fellow Premier League side Coventry City in showing interest in Union Berlin's 26-year-old Serbian forward, Andrej Ilic. Forest are monitoring the striker. Ilic has one cap for his country and joined his current club in July 2025. His contract expires at the end of the next season, and he has not yet agreed to a new deal. This situation is reportedly a source of concern for the German club.

During the 2025-26 season, Ilic was a key player for the club, contributing six goals and 12 assists in 34 appearances. The Serbian's former manager, Steffen Baumgart, had previously praised his work for the team and described his pressing as being fantastic. His current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €9.00m. In January 2026, Union Berlin's asking price for Ilic was reportedly between £7 million and £10 million. He had transferred to the club for a confirmed fee of €5.0 million.
