Fabrizio Romano has reported that Nottingham Forest is in advanced talks to sign 22-year-old Ivorian central defender Ousmane Diomandé from Sporting Lissabon. The 15-time international is under contract with the Portuguese club until 2030. Nottingham Forest are negotiating simultaneously with both Sporting and the player's representatives.
Diomandé previously extended his contract, which included the insertion of an €80 million release clause. The English club's first offer was for €40 million plus €5 million in bonuses, while Sporting is demanding a fee of €50 million. Diomandé joined Sporting in January 2023. According to Transfermarkt, he has a current market value of €42.00m. Leeds United and Milan are among the other clubs that have been recently linked with the player.
