Nicolas Raskin's future is uncertain, with the Belgian midfielder having been previously linked with a move to Italy where Atalanta were said to be interested. A move to Serie A could still occur through Bologna, as former Ibrox midfielder Ian McCall suggested a potential swap deal between the Italian club and Rangers. McCall proposed that Raskin could go to Bologna with Lewis Ferguson moving to Rangers, and also suggested that money would be involved in the deal. McCall, who described his idea as being based entirely on intuition, stated his belief that Raskin is potentially of a very high standard and worth more than Ferguson.

Rangers have been continually linked with Ferguson, with these connections increasing since the arrival of Derek McInnes. It is reported that Ferguson is focused on the World Cup, and he is expected to re-evaluate his future at Bologna, where he is entering the last year of his contract, upon his return. If the 25-year-old Raskin were to leave Rangers, it is reported the club will demand a fee of more than £20 million. Raskin joined Rangers in January 2023 for a reported €1.5 million, is under contract until May 2028 and recorded 5 goals and 7 assists in 31 Scottish Premiership appearances in the 2025/2026 season. Recent reports from June 2026 suggest Rangers could be tempted by offers around £15 million, while other analysis argued for at least £20 million.
