Newcastle United is tracking Joaquin Seys, a 20-year-old Belgian full-back who plays for Club Brugge. The English club is seeking a player for that position. Dayann Methalie of Toulouse is considered their primary target, but he is currently injured. It is reported that Newcastle aims to sign a player during this transfer window, however, a transfer for Seys this month is considered unlikely. One reason for this is that a winter transfer is not seen as ideal for the player due to the approaching World Cup.
Newcastle scouts were impressed by Seys during a Champions League match against Aston Villa last year. In recent months, Manchester United and AS Roma have also been linked with the player. Seys has a contract with Club Brugge until mid-2029. Transfermarkt values him at €15 million. It is understood that the Belgian club will only consider offers exceeding €20 million in the summer. The defender has two caps for Belgium. In the 25/26 Jupiler Pro League season, he has made 1 appearance, scoring 1 goal and providing 2 assists.
