According to the Campania edition of the Corriere della Sera, Gattuso's Lazio made an approach for the 26-year-old Italian striker, Lorenzo Lucca, in the summer, but Napoli turned down the proposal of a dry loan.
The club's decision was based on not wanting to devalue the €35 million investment they made to sign the striker from Udinese in the summer of 2025. De Laurentiis confirmed Lucca would stay as Hojlund's backup. The situation could potentially be revisited in January. His contract with Napoli runs until June 2030.
